How to comment
We welcome your feedback on the plan at this stage. Your views are important.
A printed survey will be distributed to all properties in the parish in the next few days. This survey will also be available at Hazelbank Stores and Ellens Green Memorial Hall. It will contain all the details of how to submit your comments.
For residents without access to the internet, paper copies of the plan and supporting documents will be available from the Cranleigh Parish Office, Cranleigh library and by appointment from the Parish clerk. To arrange to borrow a printed copy please either email: clerk@ewhurstellensgreen-pc.gov.uk or telephone 07711 566458.
After the consultation period (Regulation 14) ends, we will have received feedback from residents and also relevant groups and statutory bodies. All comments and feedback will be reviewed and considered for inclusion in the plan where appropriate.
The amended draft plan will then be submitted to our local planning authority at Waverley, where it will be be subject to further publicity and comment. It will also be submitted to an independent examiner for review.
The independent examiner will then produce a report with recommendations, and Waverley will produce a decision based on that report. If the plan is approved (including any modifications required by the decision) it will go back to the residents of the parish. There will be a referendum on whether to adopt or reject the plan. This will be advertised to all residents for a minimum of 6 weeks before the vote is held.
If the plan is adopted at referendum it becomes a "made" plan. It will carry weight in planning decisions within the parish, allowing us to shape how and where development takes place.
The proposed plan runs to 2032 - during that time it will be subject to review at least every 5 years by the Parish Council to ensure that the policies and recommendations it contains are accurate and up to date.
